If boychuk is still dinged up then having him play a preseason game seems like a good way to make it worse. |

I hope that "nagging" injury isn't still nagging or you're right. |

I doubt they'd have him play if he was injured. No way they risk losing him to serious injury in pre season. |

It would be asinine if they did play him with any injury. |

This actually sounds like the exact type of risk Capuano would take |

Last report I see on boychuk from staple is that he skated on the 27th (nothing about him missing any practices since then either)
Maybe he’s healthy and it was a minor injury, but if it’s a nagging injury then to have him in a preseason game with a bunch of ahl players trying to make a name for themselves running people, that’s irresponsible. I watched bits of a couple of games last night and noticed that even in the 20-30 minutes I watched, tons of head shots and late, from behind hits from players who won’t make an nhl roster. Preseason is when the no names go head hunting to try and make a name for themselves. I’d prefer to keep key players that are already nicked up away from those situations.

He has to get some ice time in a real game like situation sooner or later so if he feels fine he'll play. I doubt he would be out there if he was less then 100% |

http://fansided.com/2016/...ms-trade-tobias-rieder/2/ Always amazing when I read hockey posts how little information they have on Islanders. You are getting paid for this crap?
only Anders Lee had more points last season than Rieder.
Nelson, Ladd, P.A. all had more points than Rieder but this clown who is very aware the Isles "lost" Franz and OK.. can't seem to remember anyone we signed. |

It said "of the returning wings". Ladd and PA weren't Islanders last year. Nelson may have been an oversight, as he is listed as only a center on some websites. |

I still find it amusing that most publications (the hockey news, sporting news etc) seem to think the Isles are taking a big hit with Ladd instead of Okposo. I’d wager that the people writing these see the Isles play in the regular season less than 5 times a year. This is why Okposo is still referred to often as a ‘power forward’
Whatever.

some comments from last chain
On Saturday even thought it said rangers vs devils on Fios they did show the isles vs caps in that slot. I hope its the case tonight. the problem is we have been borrowing every teams opposing feed since we don't have one of our own. so only way we can see this one is if Devils are streaming it.
also totally on Barzal, this kid is ready for bigleagues. those concerned with playing time, Isles do roll 4 lines more regularly. If Barzal produces he will be moved up. Nothing he can gain at this point going back to juniors.
As for Boychuk - yeah I don't get why they would play him if he getting over injury. We know his game already.
I think Beaviller is going to be good player us too. MDC did look better in last game too. |

There's likely no chance CHI doesn't find a way to fit him in, but I'll tell you what...if for some reason it doesn't work and they need to move him....Snow should be all over that 24/7.

Would be a perfect RW for Tavares. Again, won't happen...but it's either read this or we can debate what percentage of healthiness Boychuck is at. |
